Pet Cancer Group is led by Dr. J Armando Villamil, a board-certified veterinary oncologist with more than ten years of experience in the field and at the forefront of animal cancer therapy. Dr. Villamil has been involved in multiple clinical trials (e.g., Kinavet, Satraplatin, radiopharmaceuticals, and Bayer pharmaceuticals) to develop new cancer treatments. He also has an extensive background in veterinary cancer research, having earned a Ph.D. in epidemiology.

Dr. J. Armando Villamil, MS, DVM,PhD, ACVIM (Oncology)
Dr. J. Armando Villamil is a Board-Certified Oncologist. He was born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Dr. Villamil obtained his Bachelor of Science, Master, and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees from Louisiana State University. While pursuing his veterinary medicine degree, he decided to become a specialist and dedicate himself to the treatment of cancer in animals. After achieving his Veterinary degree, he completed a one-year internship at Veterinary Specialist of South Florida. Following this clinical year, Dr. Villamil enrolled in a prestigious dual residency in medical oncology and a Ph.D. in Epidemiology program at the University of Missouri. After successfully completing both programs, he worked at the University of Missouri as a Clinical instructor. Following this position, Dr. Villamil returned to private practice in South Florida. After 6 years of working in private practice, he decided to create the Pet Cancer Group to offer the top cancer therapy his clients deserve.
Dr. Villamil and his wife Cecilia have two children, CJ, and AA. They also share their home with two Frenchies, Coco and her son Mr. Q. In his free time, you probably find him fishing somewhere.

Our entire team at the Pet Cancer Group thrives in taking care of your family member as one of our own. Most of us at the Pet Cancer Group have been through the experience of treating our own pets with cancer, allowing us to personally relate to you and the situation you are going through. Our goal is to ensure you have all the tools and knowledge you need to fight cancer effectively.
